Kun Wang, Rui-yuan Lin, Heng-Zhang, Gui-de Liu, Xiao-fei Jiang

Clinics Cardiology. 5(3): 1–6. DOI pending

Abstract

A Single Occluder for Simultaneous Closure of Atrial Septal Defect, Patent Foramen Ovale and Atrial Septal Aneurysm, Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is an embryonic defect in the interatrial septum, which has been associated with migraine, high-altitude deoxygenation syndrome, decompression sickness and transient ischemic attacks (TIA) in patients aged 18- 65 years. Atrial septal aneurysm (ASA), characterized by a protrusion of the atrial septum, exacerbates the risk of unexplained embolic events in patients with PFO... Read more

Clinics Cardiology. 5(3): 1–6. DOI pending

Abstract

Case Report and Perioperative Management of Rare Squamous Cell Carcinoma with Bladder Invasion, Right Renal Pelvis Hydronephrosis and Acute Myocardial Injury, Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the most common type of cervical cancer, is significantly influenced by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection worldwide, particularly in developing countries. While presenting with symptoms like vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain, early diagnosis and treatment remain challenging, especially in cases where tumor invasiveness is n... Read more

Clinics Cardiology. 5(3): 1–4. DOI pending

Abstract

Cardiac Hydatid Cyst: A Rare but Lethal Masquerader, Hydatid disease, caused by Echinococcus granulosus or Echinococcus multilocularis, remains a significant yet often underrecognized global health concern. Although traditionally associated with pastoral regions where sheep and cattle are raised, its geographic reach has expanded substantially due to increased global travel and livestock trade. Abstract

The Prevalence of Dyslipidemia by Gender Following the ESC2019 Guideline for Target LDL-C Levels in the Shiraz Cohort Heart Study, Iran, Men were more common in the moderate-risk and very high-risk group (1459 (68.9%) and 669 (59.6%), respectively). Results in the uncontrolled and controlled LDL-C groups were differentiated according to gender. Different risk groups and subgroups that had LDL-C higher than the normal limit showed the most significant findings in the high-risk groups with differences that were si... Read more

Outcomes of CABG versus PCI with and without Intravascular Imaging in Multivessel ACS Patients

Macy L. Meyer, Talia G. Meidan, Jordan T Kuhlman, Ghadi Moubarak, Luke Frizzell, Kendall Hammonds, Timothy Mixon, Karim Al-Azizi, Srini Potluri, Molly Szerlip, Jay Widmer R

Clinics Cardiology. 5(3): 1–8. DOI pending

Abstract

Outcomes of CABG versus PCI with and without Intravascular Imaging in Multivessel ACS Patients, Of 1,854 patients, 295 (15.9%) underwent CABG, 259 (14.0%) PCI with imaging, 1300 (70.1%) PCI without imaging, and only 27 (1.5%) met criteria for “optimal imaging” for PCI with IVUS. One-year all-cause mortality was significantly lower in CABG than in PCI with “optimal imaging” (p=0.0005). There was no significant difference between them in one-year readmission or one-year recurrent MI event rate. Read more
